Rib safari in Sea Caves & Damouchari in Pelion
Activity Description
When hearing the phrase "Province of Larissa".. the thought of most people downloads straight images!
One can hardly imagine 40 km of coastline and an unexplored sea connection with Pelion, of unique beauty.
Seven blue miles..the second-largest beach in Greece.
Sea route: Agiokampos - Veneto Sea Caves - Damouchari, 30 nautical miles.
Meeting at the port in Agiokampos. Fishermen, most of them a few "inflated"...create a harmonious image of coexistence over time, different from the one we are used to seeing.
We start with the inflatables for a 15-mile southern route, leaving civilization behind for a while.
We sail past beautiful coves and special coasts, such as the "Royal beach" Mylos Glymeni, with the old mine, Asprovrachos, the beach of Diamonds, Alfonso beach, where the first form of agro-tourism was set up in Velada, and the port of Keramidi. A route of about 15 miles to the coast of the mountain village of Veneto.
Transparent waters, fancy green-blue reflections, and wild beauty are some of the words that characterize the sea caves of the Veneto. We will explore these inimitable works of nature by boat and we will take a snorkeling tour of the Aegean Cave where according to legend the marriages of Peleus and Thetis, parents of Achilles, took place.
From the Aegean Cave, we will make a long stop for another swim at the special beach of Limniona, where we will discover the natural "refrigerator" of the beach.
Options: bath, coffee on the rock. Or eating in a fish tavern with Aegean fish.
Late afternoon... we continue in a southerly direction to reach the particularly picturesque settlement, Damouhari.
Here we will see and remember the images of the Mama Mia movie where most of it was filmed.
The diligent preservation of the elements of antiquity and tradition in the settlement gives Damouchari an atmosphere of historicity and nostalgia for the good old days.
In this imposing environment overlooking the sea, it is worth testing the strength of the senses with the flavors of fresh Aegean fish, and local mezes, accompanied by Peliot tsipouro.
As soon as the sun begins to set we will take the boat back. Afternoon swims in a very small cove where if we are lucky we will meet "Maria" in her cave!!!
This sea experience will close with intense red, orange, and yellow hues as the light hides behind Ossa arriving at the Port of Agiokampos.
