Rafting and rappel in the Arachthos gorge
Activity Description
The emblematic river Arachthos flows through some of the most beautiful areas of Greece. It originates from the northern Pindos and passes between the mountains, Lakmo and Mitsikeli flow into the Amvrakikos. Along the way, it crosses green and impressive gorges, giving us unique images and experiences.

It is an easy but intense route with 2nd and 3rd degree passes, about 10km, and takes all year. It is ideal for all ages. It starts from the bridge of Politsa near the village of Ambelochori and ends after the bridge of Plaka.
In the middle of the route we stop and after a 5-minute walk on a gentle path we visit the Clifki waterfall and the natural swimming pool it creates, for dives and photos. The rocks are 35 million years old limestone !!! Along the way in many places water coming out of the rocks is crystal clear and drinkable. The route ends at the exit of the canyon and the stone monumental bridge of Plaka. We walk 200 meters from the riverbank and reach the base to change.
Rapel
After rafting and 10 minutes by car, we reach Platanoussa village square. There is a vertical natural rock 35 meters high. Climb up the stone steps and a gentle 5-minute walk and reach the top of the rock. The instructor laces us with the special waist belts on the ropes, and gives us a brief lesson on the use of the ropes, how we descend the rock, and start descending the ropes. Finishing up we collect all the materials we used and the activity ends there.
