GREtour & learn in Rhodes

Our trip focuses on school-age children and was designed by experienced pedagogues, with a primary goal, all participants to be active in each destination and interact with the environment. The program aims to make children entertained pleasantly by gaining a living experience and cultivating a positive look at values ​​such as noble competition, cooperation, creativity, sociability, and respect for nature and the environment.

Also, in our program we have integrated the interdisciplinary approach to learning, which has to do with ancient Greek culture, nutrition, sport, nature and all that while the participants come in contact with each other, creating the right climate to interact with each other but also with the environment. Finally, the participants assimilate information in a multifaceted way to each place of a visit, participating in multi-sensory methods with first-hand experience and playful and interactive character.

Itinerary

1st stop - Ancient Olympic Stadium - Rhodes

Where the cultural scene of the Olympic Games and the values of the ancient Greeks are highlighted during the first stage, while during the second the children enter the spirit of the games with the help of experiential and non-competitive games as they teach concepts such as ”noble rivalry” and the ”healthy mind in a healthy body”. | Duration: 45 minutes

2nd stop - Bee Museum

It is a place where the only beekeeping and natural history bee museum in Greece is located, which in itself is a pleasant experience for young and old. Visitors can see the wonder bee world through transparent observation hives, learn about history, biology, bee products, honey and fertilization. Finally, they can taste different types of honey or other bee derivatives and learn about their importance in our daily diet. | Duration: 45 minutes

3rd stop - Valley of Butterflies

One of Europe’s rare habitats, where during the summer period it is a refuge for a particular species of nightmares. The location is ideal for walking and experiential meditation as visitors are obliged to move slowly and silently due to the sensitivity of the butterflies to the noises. | Duration: 45 minutes

4th stop - Farma of Rhodes Petting Zoo

A destination in nature, where visitors have the opportunity to admire rare animals and birds. It is allowed to feed the animals, which makes it special as experience. Children are taught respect and care for animals as well as particular characteristics of the animals they observe. There is a restaurant where optionally food is suitable.

5th stop - Afandou Beach

The last stop is at the 7km long beach of Afandou where after a reference to the importance of cleanliness of seas and beaches participants can enjoy the clear blue sea!
