One of the most interesting and fascinating experiences on Andros Island is to visit and participate in a farm tour at Livada Natural Farm. Andros island is known for its long history as an agricultural hub in the eastern Mediterranean. In combination with its strong shipping tradition, the produce cultivated on Andros often reached as far as the Black Sea and beyond. Citrus fruit, olives and olive oil, silk, and other products were exported, however, agricultural activities on the island also had a character defined by traditional notions of sustainability and self-reliance.
At Livada Natural Farm you will get to meet Alexandros and Petros who emigrated to Andros from Athens and have started caring for and cultivating part of what has historically been one of the prime productive areas of the Chora region, Livada in Mesaria.
Alex and Peter are both trained in regenerative agriculture practices and have worked abroad on farms and projects with an eye on countering modern agriculture’s pitfalls. So instead of cultivating and degrading the landscape over time, they aim to increase biodiversity and fertility over time.
Visiting the Livada Farm you will experience a low-tech, bio-intensive, no-till, energy-efficient type of care for nutrition with aspects of natural farming, permaculture, and holistic management.

- Cancellation between 3 and 7 days prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are entitled to a 50% reimbursement.
- Cancellation 3 days or later are what we call last-minute cancellations. No reimbursements will be effected.
